W artykule omówiono główne rodzaje objawów charakterystycznych dla zespołu stresu pourazowego. Określono, na jakich przesłankach opiera się diagnoza zespołu stresu pourazowego. Szczególną uwagę autorka poświęca analizie wydarzeń, które mogą prowadzić do wystąpienia zespołu stresu pourazowego u danej osoby. Omówiono główne metody leczenia. Autorka określa również cele terapii oraz przedstawia wybrane zalecenia dotyczące redukcji stresu.
