Abstract

The article analyzes the development of relations between school and religion in European countries, in France, in particular. New approaches to the realization of educational tasks are suggested. The main principles of teaching religion in state schools of European countries and the documents regulating the actions of state and private schools are investigated. The content, aims and tasks of religious education are set. The main requirements to the teachers of religion are proposed.
