Abstract

The article deals with the interpretation of the image of the hero in school textbooks on Ukrainian literature from 1917 to 1920. The features of the hero are distinguished and the features of the ideal of the person are distinguished at various stages of the development of the national verbal art in the school books of a certain age (the desire of the person for freedom, the attempt to overcome the miserly routine, the relentless search for truth, the denial of wrongdoing, violence, the oppression of the weak).
