Study of the personality of the modern manager in information security

Abstract

Ukraine is on the track to European integration and further progress. At the present stage of development of our state, the formation of a spiritually rich, emotionally stable personality of a manager, capable of producing creative ideas and making responsible decisions, and ready to withstand the challenges of the information society, comes into sharp focus. In this regard, the study of information security as a branch of practical psychology, becomes relevant. This is due to the fact that, to date, the personality of a modern manager in information security is not sufficiently disclosed in psychological practice. To effectively use one’s own internal potential, a manager needs: to create favorable conditions in the internal and external environment; engage in task-oriented self-regulating activities with appropriate methods of self-regulation and technologies, which affect information and energy flows; carry out the strategic, day-today organization of managerial activities; study the professional, personal and spiritual components and estimate their conformity with the chosen course, and the like. Self-development and self-change in terms of personal self-determination create the phenomenon of a free man. The qualitative and quantitative characteristics of self-development depend on it, and this provides for the improvement of activities through perfecting the abilities and skills of an individual and restructuring of his thinking. Self-improvement of a modern manager is aimed at developing one’s abilities for change and growth, promotes accepting shortcomings and dealing with them in an effective way, contributes to further socialization and self-organization. The practical significance of the results of the study lies in the analysis of the sociopsychological aspect of a manager’s personality in information security, which provides the basis for further scientific research and development in this area.
