National-patriotic education of youth in the context of defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state

The article deals with approaches to understanding the national-patriotic upbringing of modern youth as a system of measures aimed at the formation of a citizen-patriot of Ukraine, acting on the basis of national and European values. It is shown that patriotic education is a social activity that forms a person’s attitude towards himself, his people and the Motherland. This attitude is manifested in the corresponding feelings, beliefs, ideas. It is proved that patriotic education should be the core of all educational work, since we must educate a person who has a sense of pride for his state, conscientiously fulfills public duties, is aware of the social needs of the
Motherland and the Ukrainian people, loves close and dear people.
