The author's approach is proposed in the analysis of the transformation of the personal identity of students who became forcibly displaced. 172 students took part in the survey. The theoretical analysis of the obtained empirical materials was based on the concept of W. James about the consciousness and awareness of one's own Ego by classes: material Ego, social Ego, spiritual "mine". The hierarchical sequence of identity transformation in the sequence "Ego's material identity - Ego's social identity - Ego's spiritual identity" is established as processes of transformational changes at a higher level. A formulaic definition of "identity transformation."
