Gerotranscendence: a new approach to understanding successful ageing

Abstract

Age and gender peculiarities of gerotranscendence have been studied. The results of the study allow us to talk about the heterogeneous and
non-linear dynamics in gerotranscendence formation. Gerotranscendence increases with age, which corresponds to the formation of positive attitude to aging, understanding that each age stage is unique, giving its own advantages in the development of personality. At the same time gender features of gerotranscendence have shown that women in general are more ready to accept age changes and themselves. The obtained results can be used in gerontopsychology and gerontopedagogy.
